Watch and Share Our New Video: Healthy Birth with a Midwife

We are excited to share the third video in our series designed to promote midwifery care to women and families. "Healthy Birth with a Midwife" focuses on explaining the benefits of normal, physiologic birth. In this video, midwives discuss what normal birth means to them and how they help women experience it. Check out our tips for sharing our video widely! This video was created with support from the ACNM Healthy Birth Initiative®.

A revised Healthcare.gov website is now available to the public for examination of available plan options and enrollments.The revised site is expected to be 40% faster and will allow you to input a list of health providers, hospitals, and prescription drugs and get a list of plans that include your needs in their network and benefits.

Navajo Midwives in New Mexico Plan 1st-ever Native American Birth Center

Nicolle Gonzales, a certified nurse-midwife and Navajo (or Diné, as Navajo people refer to themselves), from Waterflow, New Mexico, has embarked on a journey to create the nation's first Native American birth center.

New Guidelines: Most Mammograms Can Wait Till 45

Most women don't need to start getting an annual mammogram to screen for breast cancer until they turn 45, according to the latest guidelines from the American Cancer Society. Previously, the society recommended women start annual mammograms at 40 and continue every year for as long they remained in good health.

November is Prematurity Awareness Month® and when the March of Dimes focuses the nations attention on premature birth. The awareness month kicks off with the release of the Premature Birth Report Card, and November 17 marks World Prematurity Day.
